The seed for the Computer Society of India was first shown in the year 1965 with a handful of IT enthusiasts who were a computer user group and felt the need to organize their activities. They also wanted to share their knowledge and exchange ideas on what they felt was a fast emerging sector. The purposes of the society are scientific and educational directed towards the advancement of the theory and practice of Computer Science and IT. The organization has grown to an enviable size of 100,000 strong members consisting of professionals with varied backgrounds including Software developers, Scientists, Academicians, Project Managers, CIO’s, CTO’s & IT vendors to just name a few. It has spread its branches all over the country. Currently having more than 500 students branches and rooted firmly at 3 different locations. The idea is to spread the knowledge, and provide opportunities to as may interested as possible.

The Computer Society of India – Student Chapter of Jeppiaar Institute of Technology has been registered during the academic year 2012 – 13 with 77 students active members under the Region VII of CSI. The college owes an Educational Institutional Membership of CSI for 4 Years and renewed there after. CSI Student Chapter organizes various events like Guest Lectures, Symposia, Seminar, Workshop, Technical Debate, Quiz Competition, On-line Test, Poster Presentation, Group Discussion etc., periodically with the motivation of imparting quality par with elite standards and to make our students as visionary leaders in the society.

Mr.M.Dineshkumar, and Ms.Ancy, Trained Trainer from GeoInsys Soft, Chennai handled the “One day workshop on Python Programming” . Around 40 students from various Department participated and learnt about Python, organized by CSI-Student Branch.

Dr.ANAND MAHENDRAN, Associate Professor,VIT University,Vellore handled the Session on TOC. Totally 52 students from CSE and IT Department Students attended and gain the knowledge in this session.

Dr.AJU, Associate Professor,VIT University,Vellore handled the Session . Totally 45 students from CSE and IT Department Students attended and gain the knowledge in this session.

CSI student Branch organized this event. Totally 43 students participated in this event and updated their skills in DBMS.

Mr.RANJITH.U, Trainer,Techgrunge Chennai, handled the “One day workshop on Android”. Around 70 students from CSE and IT department participated, organized by CSI-Student Branch.

Mr.PARANDHAMAN.GR, Senior Engineer, Seal Infotech (Pvt) Ltd., handled the “One day workshop on IOT” and delivered the content about IOT and its application. He discussed about emerging development and Impact of IOT with technology. Around 180 students participated and learnt about IOT, organized by CSI-Student Branch.

A workshop on Android was conducted on 17.07.2017. 70 students participated this workshop and gained knowledge. Real time examples were discussed and the session was very useful.
