Computer Science & Engineering
About the department

The department started its endeavor with the first batch of students admitted in the UG programme in the year 2011. With the globalization of the Indian economy, vast opportunities of growth have been thrown open for the computer software and hardware industry. Software being one of the largest growing sectors of the Indian economy, the Department of Computer Science & Engineering at the JEPPIAAR INSTITUTE OF TECHNOLOGY will be at the forefront in churning out software engineers with a high caliber of technical expertise. It has started to foster and engender the innovation and breadth of vision necessary to excel the blooming software industry. The experienced faculty members expose the budding computer engineers to a rigorous and exhaustive curriculum designed to bring out the best in them and to keep them in touch with the latest state-of-the-art technology.

Besides imparting theoretical knowledge, a lot of stress is laid on hands-on training and overall development of the individual's personality. The competence of the department is reflected in the growing demand for its fresh graduates.

Laboratory Facilities

We have a wide lab with 120 PC with the main server having 2 Terabyte storage capacity and RAM of 80GB. The department embraces laboratories such as Object Oriented Analysis and Design Lab, Internet Programming Lab, Digital Lab, Data Structure Lab, Object Oriented Programming Lab, Computer Graphics Lab and Open source Lab. In terms of the technology, we literally built the new laboratory with the latest technology “Thin Client” in which the virtual desktop provides an alternative to a traditional desktop infrastructure to a more virtualized environment. Using them puts highly reliable robust hardware in the hands of students. There is no hard drive. “We just don’t have physical failure. Reliability is excellent”.

Students are involved in co-curricular activities by the way of conducting guest lectures under the Computer Society of India. The students interact with industries in developing software so that they are employable at the end of their course. Students get ample opportunities to let out their creative energies and develop skills through sporting events, cultural events, college festivals, debates and inter college competitions. This helps them to develop their soft skills.
